Job Description
Fiber Optics Design Associate
- Assisting in the creation of technical drawings for various tasks including analysis fiber optic network design topology layout fiber splice plans cable duct and routing and calculations on nonroutine assignments of substantial variety and complexity.
- Ensuring compliance with internal and client drafting standards for various types of fiber optics.
- Staying updated with industry developments and demonstrating knowledge of internet and telephone signals.
- Identifying and resolving issues that may impact the project considering surrounding environments before finalizing network plans.
- Investigating drawing sequence and presentation sizing system components fiber optic cable plants and refining rough sketches. Monitoring ongoing projects and initial draft designs.
- Generating Bill of Quantities (BOQs) for all materials equipment and components required for the layout. Assisting in the physical implementation of the design to avoid complications.
- Establishing a documentation process to address potential issues among technical staff during installation or upgrades.
- Evaluating reports drawings and calculations. Collaborating with engineering and field personnel to complete projects within budget and stipulated time frame. Organizing and maintaining all revisions of project drawings plot files and projectrelated information.
- Archiving network blueprints notes and records diligently for future use. Updating documentation throughout the project on an ongoing basis.
- Demonstrating good knowledge of broadband optical fiber and copper connectivity solutions.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Fiber Optics Designer or similar role
- Proficiency in drafting software and tools
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or relevant field is preferred
