Summary: The Elementary Principal is responsible for organizing and fostering a positive safe environment that is conducive to best meeting the needs of all students staff and families. Provides leadership and administration resources to motivate instruction teaching and learning and supports the team towards optimum performance in achieving the best possible opportunities for student growth and development. The Principal works to implement an instructional vision and focused plan for improving student achievement while narrowing the disparities between the highest and lowestperforming students. The principal fosters a culture of high expectations ensures all students have equitable access to highquality and culturallyrelevant instruction and builds strong partnerships with families and the community. Creates a safe welcoming environment that reflects and supports the racial and ethnic diversity of the student population and communities served. Responsibilities include but are not limited to staffing; staff supervision and evaluation; instructional leadership; curriculum oversight; student parent and community relations; student discipline; school safety; and fiscal and facilities management of the elementary school building.

Education and Experience:
Certificates Licenses Registrations
Interpersonal Skills: Ability to interact appropriately with teachers staff community members and students. Focuses on solving conflict; maintains confidentiality; Contributes to building a positive team spirit.
Language Skills:Ability to communicate verbally and in writing fluently in English. Preference may be given to applicants fluent in English and Spanish. Ability to present information and respond effectively to questions in oneonone small and large group situations to students and other school staff. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions procedure manuals and governmental regulations. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Mathematical Skills:Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts interest proportions percentages area circumference and area. Ability to apply basic concepts of algebra geometry fractions percentages ratios and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:Ability to apply common sense understanding to complete instructions furnished in written oral schedule or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:General knowledge of computer usage and ability to use database software email internet software spreadsheets teaching software and word processing software.
