    Job Objective: The Adjunct Cooking Instructor will be responsible for developing and teaching culinary classes for adult students. This role involves planning and preparing meals grocery shopping and providing handson instruction in a classroom setting. The instructor will work closely with the Training Coordinator to schedule classes and develop innovative curriculum.

    CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT:
    • Develop and adapt recipes for adult cooking classes.
    • Create lesson plans and instructional materials.
    • Collaborate with the Training Coordinator to brainstorm new class ideas and themes.
    • Professional development training will be offered and some may be required.
    CLASS INSTRUCTION:
    • Teach cooking classes to adult students providing clear and engaging instruction.
    • Demonstrate cooking techniques and equipment usage.
    • Guide students through the preparation of planned meals.
    • Answer student questions and provide feedback.
    CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT:
    • Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment.
    • Ensure adherence to food safety regulations.
    • Supervise students and address any concerns.
    QUALIFICATIONS
    • Culinary training or experience in a professional kitchen.
    • Strong teaching and communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Passion for cooking and a desire to share knowledge.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
    • Food safety certification preferred.
    WORKING CONDITIONS:
    • Work in a kitchen environment which may involve standing for long periods working with hot equipment and exposure to allergens.
    • Schedule may vary based on class offerings and student needs.
