Position Summary
The Program Director is responsible for directing and supervising camp programs and providing direction and leadership for the summer staff. The Program Director should focus on three main elements Fun Safety and God. The Program Director is tasked with implementing the mission and vision of camp.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for submitting essential records (such as NOCs staff discipline notices invoices statistics and seeker forms etc. to the appropriate person in a timely manner.
- Assist in the responsibility for the spiritual growth of the camp staff and campers.
- Plan and implement camp programs with the assistance of the Program Team and following the direction of camp leadership.
- Schedule daily and weekly duties for Head Cabin Leaders and Cabin Leaders.
- Schedule and attend daily staff meetings.
- Be available for campers and staff consultation.
- Work with the Head Cabin Leaders for staff devotional meetings.
- Deal with discipline problems of campers and staff with direction from the Camp Director Program Director and/or DYS as required.
- Assist in the allcamp first day registration process and lead/organize the last day procedures.
- Organize the cleanup of camp after each session and at the conclusion of the summer.
- Maintain a high standard of personal Christian living as a role model for campers and staff.
- Attend and actively participate in Staff Orientation and staff meetings.
- Oversee and maintain safety and health standards within the program.
- Support and enforce camp policies and practices.
- Show flexibility in programming that accommodates different camp populations.
- Communicate with parents and Corps in event of camper issues and concerns.
Compensation
$450/Wk.
Working Conditions
May be asked to use fire protection equipment washers and dryers special programs and recreational equipment. May be asked to drive camp vehicles or golf carts. Should be proficient in computer skills and word processing.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Minimum 2 years camping experience. Ability to exercise confidentiality.
- Ability to relate to ones peer group.
- The ability to provide supervision and guidance topeers.
- Ability to teach a number of activities. Good character integrity and adaptability.
- Enthusiasm sense of humor patience and selfcontrol.
- Previous counseling experience is essential.
- Current CPR and First Aid certified.
- Must possess proven leadership andorganizational skills.
- Interest in and ability to work with children.
- Personal relationship and commitment to JesusChrist.
- Ability to plan originate organize and carry out daily and special programs.
- Valid drivers license and willing to completeTSA driver training.
Skills Knowledge & Abilities
- This position requires the ability to listen toothers observe others actions read text andinformation; comprehend instructions andmanuals and physical ability to move about thecamp property in various environmentalconditions.
- Ability to communicate and work with groupsparticipating (age and skill levels) and providenecessary instruction to campers and staff.
- Ability to observe camper behavior assess itsappropriateness enforce appropriate safetyregulations and emergency procedures and applyappropriate behaviormanagement techniques.

- Visual and auditory ability to identify and respondto environmental and other hazards related to theactivity.
- Physical ability to respond appropriately tosituations requiring first aid. Must be able to assistcampers in an emergency (fire evacuation illness or injury) and possess strength andendurance required to maintain constantsupervision of campers.
