Rutgers The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Laboratory Technician in Radiation Cancer Biology at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for conducting and executing research experiments following the instructions given by the laboratory team. Rutgers Cancer Institute leverages numerous experimental approaches. Including singlecell genomics by nextgeneration sequencing in situ singlecell analyses of DNA and RNA by Fluorescent in situ Hybridization FISH and CRISPR gene editing to induce genomic instability and study its consequences on tumor transformation and therapy response. This will include supporting the research of Principal Investigators and senior members of the laboratory. The Laboratory Technician will assist in designing and executing experiments preparing submission and publication materials and learning appropriate scientific methods and procedures. Among the key duties of this position are the following: Performs cellular and mouse experiments that are proposed in the grant with a specific focus on the function of the chromosome structural and copy number alterations under the direction of the principal investigator. Assists in the design and of experiments. Have essential computer skills. Maintain database on computer. Assists in packing unpacking storing and classifying lab supplies and specimens. Performs standard laboratory procedures involved in making required tests and analyses. Assists in preparing culture media reagents stains and stock solutions. Assists with experimentation and research activities. Assists with maintaining the Laboratory facilities equipment and instruments. Maintains accurate records of experimentation and research. Attends laboratory meetings journal clubs and other educational activities. Maintains laboratory notebooks and laboratory resources.

Preferred Qualifications
BS BA or higher degree in Biological Science degree. Previous experience in laboratory techniques including Fluorescent in situ Hybridization cell biology and tissue culture experiments.
