Reporting to the CCTG Group Administrator and working in collaboration with the Senior Management team at CCTG the Contracts Coordinator supports contractual processes for the CCTG. The incumbent will be responsible for project management of the contract review and process. Reviews will be led by the incumbent in partnership with Senior Management.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate CCTG reviews of contracts required for the conduct of clinical trials with Senior Management team.
Responsible for project management of contract review and to ensure timelines and requirements are met.
Serve as the lead contact for legal and internal contract review. Analyze legal contracts to identify red flag issues and risk involved. Work with third party negotiation teams including lawyers to negotiate changes to agreements.
Coordinate internal meetings of relevant staff (Group Administrator Managers and Senior Investigator) to review contracts to ensure compliance with CCTG standard operating procedures.
Interact with the Office of Research Services and partners to ensure timely review and signature of contracts. Provide status reports to Senior Management quarterly and real time to the Senior Investigator/Trial Team responsible for the conduct of the trial.
Responsible for drafting policies related to contracts and obtaining input from many sources in this development process.
In support of the Group Administrator ensure training of key CCTG staff and ensure compliance as a result of new systems or requirements.
Undertake other duties and special projects as required in support of the Contracts unit at CCTG.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor of Commerce and/or Business Administration. Completion of contract law courses an asset.
Several years of relevant experience in research contract administration.
Experience with contract review and negotiation. Understanding of nondisclosure agreements.
Familiarity with clinical trials and the Queens research community an asset.
Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Strong analytical skills with outstanding attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize competing demands while working under time pressures and deadlines.
DECISION MAKING:
Under the supervision of the Group Administrator determine how contract issues should be resolved and ensure that all the issues are resolved in a manner that meets legal boundaries with major issues being directed to the Group Administrator.
Review Clinical Trials agreements including clauses for Indemnifications and Intellectual Property and make recommendations on wording.
In partnership with the Senior Management team determine priorities to ensure timely contract review and per Queens and CCTG requirements.
Interpret and implement policies or analyze procedures and recommend changes or amendments as required.
Independent decisions are an integral part of daily duties.
