Systems Engineer

THE POSITION:
At STACK the Systems Engineer will deploy monitor upgrade and support the operational technology services & corporate infrastructure. The position requires expertise in operating highly available secure and scalable infrastructure. The position works under minimal direction with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. This is a handson position requiring strong technical skills as well as excellent informal leadership interpersonal and communication skills.
Design implement and maintain the organizations compute storage cloud and operational technology infrastructure.
Monitor performance identify bottlenecks or issues and proactively implement solutions to optimize performance and ensure high availability.
Implement and manage monitoring tools to oversee system performance identify issues and implement necessary measures to optimize system performance and reliability.
Conduct regular system backups audits and testing to ensure business continuity.
Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for escalated infrastructure issues.
Investigate and resolve complex problems collaborating with crossfunctional teams and vendors as needed.
Perform root cause analysis of incidents and develop preventive measures to minimize future occurrences.
Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry best practices applying them to enhance performance reliability & security.
Maintain accurate documentation of configurations procedures and troubleshooting steps.
Prepare regular reports on infrastructure performance security incidents and other relevant metrics.
Oncall availability may be required to respond to emergency situations
MUSTHAVE QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors degree in a computer science computer information systems management information systems or equivalent industry experience.
57 years experience as a system engineer in an enterprise or data center setting
Experience with onpremises hosting platforms (vSphere/HyperV) storage (NetApp) and backup.
Proficiency with code and the ability to do scripting or coding in at least one popular language (Bash python Ruby etc).
Data center experience a plus
THE DETAILS:
Location: Manassas VA will need to commute onsite
Travel: Domestic travel required up to 25
Must be eligible to work in the United States
Must pass a comprehensive background screening
