Onsite are roles that have specific onsite requirements and are typically onsite daily.
Hybrid fixed are roles that are a blend of onsite work/inperson interactions with some ability to work remotely and require employees to live within a commutable distance and be onsite fixed days each week.
Hybrid flexible are roles that can be performed remotely but require some level of onsite work/inperson interactions on a regular basis require employees to live within a commutable distance and since business needs vary by position and may change over time managers will set expectations and flexibility regarding where and when work is performed.
Fully remote are roles that can be performed remotely require employees to live in approved states and will have purposedriven inperson interactions on occasion.

PSEGLI seeks a detailoriented and strategically minded Sr. Financial Analyst to join the Project Services team within the Information Technology group. The Information Technology group is responsible for managing financial results for the Long Island Power Authority LIPA in accordance with the Operating Service Agreement OSA which includes the monthly and annual capital plan forecast process and providing analytical support for senior management and line of business Director/Managers. The role operates in a fastpaced resultsoriented environment and should have the ability to influence the decisions of senior business leaders through effective verbal and written communication logical reasoning and the presentation of alternatives. The successful candidate must be able to think and act both strategically and tactically. This role reports to the Director of Project Services.
Assist with the Utility Review Board (URB) process. This includes but is not limited to facilitating URB meetings with senior leadership and capital project stakeholders participating in various capital project discussions with LIPA/PSEGLI staff reviewing URB document submittals coordinating URB functions with other Capital Budget Management staff members URB activity monitoring and tracking URB administrative tasks etc.
Assist with all necessary LIPA capital reporting as required under the terms Operations Service Agreement including but not limited to post URB meeting LIPA reporting production of aging reports necessary followup with LIPA and PSEGLI capital project stakeholders coordination of Project Justification Description documents (PJDs) with responsible stakeholders and other administrative tasks as necessary.
Assist as necessary in all aspects of the annual capital budget development process including but not limited to guiding and assisting the various lines of business (LOB) with the development of their capital plan accumulating the required supporting PJDs coordination with and timely submittals to LIPA and any other tasks related to the capital budget development process.
Prepare plan and monitor the budgets along with forecasts for the PSEGLI IT business unit in order to ensure financial targets are met.
Participate in the variance analysis and query investigation utilizing financial systems for financial activity and ensure accurate allocation of costs.
Capital reporting and analysis of actual results versus plan URB approved amounts and projected yearends (PYE).
Partner liaise and develop positive working relationships with primary client (LIPA) financial and operating areas and corporate department to obtain information required to meet responsibilities and respond to inquiries.
Proactively build and maintain internal and external networks in order to penetrate absorb and apply technical/professional best practice to own area of responsibilities.
Implement new business processes and streamline and improve current business processes.
Provide financial planning for all aspects of the capital budget development process including SAP and financial systems setup and maintenance as necessary.
Provide key business and financial guidance to the organization (budgeting and forecasting).
Analyze and interpret financial results and forecasts (variance analysis P&L impact).
Drive Business Process implementation and improvement.
Participate on crossfunctional teams to solve business issues.
Assist on special projects as required.
Assist in the creation management and communication of PSEG Long Island IT monthly financial documents to be presented to senior management.
Support the monthend quarterend and yearend closing processes. These can include creating and maintaining journal entries conducting actual vs plan analysis and creating ad hoc analysis.
Assist in analyzing results and identify areas of opportunities for efficiency and cost savings.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree preferably in Accounting Finance or Business Management and a minimum of seven 7 years of financial planning and analysis experience
Demonstrated knowledge in accounting budgeting and financial practices
Excellent PC skills with a superior working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word PowerPoint and other database software. Expert user of Excel
Excellent written and verbal communication skills ability to interact with internal and external providers/users of financial information
Successful candidate must demonstrate and value differences in others strengths perspectives approaches and personal choices
Ability to present and interact with senior personnel
Prior experience with IT Financial Management TBM Apptio ServiceNow Arriba SAP or similar subject matter areas
GAAP Knowledgeable
