Job Description
We are hiring an AI Platform Engineering Manager to lead the AI Application Engineering team enabling the responsible use of AI for the 750 product teams at Vanguard. Youll be defining the technical roadmap and vision for custom applications using AI at Vanguard and enabling the tools and capabilities needed for these teams to be successful. We define success as every custom application responsibly using AI to transform our business and developers being delighted to use our services. Youll be leading a team of engineers as well as working with senior stakeholders and platform teams across the company. This is a highly visible role that requires both technical expertise the ability to quickly deliver value as well as the ability to manage a number of senior stakeholders. Subject matter expertise in GenAI technology AWS and platform enablement are needed to be successful.
Core Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable AI platforms that support machine learning model deployment and data pipelines
- Implement and maintain MLOps best practices for continuous integration and deployment.
- Work closely with data scientists software engineers and DevOps teams to integrate AI solutions into the platform
- Ensure the reliability security and compliance of the AI platform
- Hires evaluates and supervises crew. Provides guidance and training as necessary to develop crew. Sets performance standards reviews performance and makes informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.
- Manages the planning and implementation of enterprisewide platform projects including schedule resources and communication of project status. Anticipates current and future needs of the organization and makes recommendations regarding project scope schedule and budget. Manages the resolution of the most complex availability and incident management issues elevated from staff and clients.
- Manages technical support staff who implement monitor troubleshoot and install cloud based platforms across all systems ensuring defined business service levels are met. Plans develops and executes short and long range goals and strategies to meet department divisional and corporate objectives.
- Evaluates alternatives for modifications to cloud computing systems and implements solutions that meet longterm business objectives and current organizational requirements. Establishes communicates and drives continuous improvement of key performance quality and client satisfaction metrics.
- Plans and implements new technologies and major releases for the most critical enterprisewide IT cloud platform projects. Leads teams that troubleshoot configure and tune systems.
- Provides thought leadership and develops technical standards to serve Vanguard technical needs. Manages the evaluation selection and ongoing performance of IT cloud vendor products and services.
- Learns and understands client area business functions and requirements. Determines the appropriate technical tool to address the clients business needs.
- Maintains expertise and awareness of industry trends and technologies; making timely adjustments to strategies as appropriate.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure.
- AI and Machine Learning Expertise. Proficiency in machine learning algorithms deep learning natural language processing and computer vision.
- Experience with AI frameworks and libraries.
- Knowledge of software engineering principles and best practices.
- Understanding of cloudnative architectures and services.
- System Design and Architecture. Ability to design scalable costeffective AI solutions.
- Ability to align AI solutions with business objectives and strategic goals.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Experience in managing AI projects from conception to deployment.
- Skills in planning scheduling and resource management.
- Willingness to stay updated with the latest advancements in AI and related technologies
