THE POSITION:
Are you an animal lover who is energetic and outgoingThe Solano County Animal Care Division of the Sheriffs Office may have a position for you. The Animal Care Outreach and Volunteer Coordinator is an integral part of the shelters mission to increase our live release rate through volunteer services adoptions rescues and foster families.
EXTRA HELP
This recruitment is intended to fill an Extra Help position. Extrahelp employees do not have rights to a regular position or continued employment and are excluded from civil service. The hours worked may be parttime or fulltime but hours cannot exceed more than 999 hours in a fiscal year.
The eligible list established from this recruitment will be used to fill Extra Help positions.
Note: All CalPERS retirees applying for Extra Help positions must meet CalPERS post retirement employment requirements. Work must be performed for a limited duration and retiree annuitant may not work more than 960 hours per fiscal year.

Note: The possession of an Associates degree or higher in public administration business administration economics accounting biological sciences animal sciences or communications is desired and may be a factor considered during the rating and/or selection process.
An Associates degree is desired for this position. Candidates who want their Associates degree considered int eh evaluation process must submit a copy of their college diploma (verifying the degree date earned and area of specialization) or official/unofficial transcripts (verifying institution student date degree and area of specialization conferred) by the final filing deadline.
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING: Candidates who attended a college or university that is accredited by a foreign or nonU.S. accrediting agency must have their educational units evaluated by an educational evaluation service. The result must be submitted to the Human Resources Department no later than the close of the recruitment. Please contact the local college or university to learn where this service can be obtained.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants are required to possess a valid California Drivers License Class C.
All licenses certificates and registrations must be kept current while employed in this class.
SELECTION PROCESS
4/18/25 5:00pm (PST) Deadline to submit application and required documents for first application review.

Based on the information provided in the application documents the qualified applicants may be invited for further examination and will either be prescheduled by the Department of Human Resources or be invited to selfschedule. All applicants meeting the minimum qualifications are not guaranteed advancement through any subsequent phase of the examination. Depending upon the number of applications received the selection process may consist of an initial application screening a mandatory information meeting a supplemental questionnaire assessment a written and/or practical exam an oral board exam or any combination listed. Responses to supplemental questions may be used as screening and testing mechanisms and will be used to assess an applicants ability to advance in the process; as such responses to supplemental questions should be treated as test examination responses.
