The Foreman is responsible for ensuring that everything goes smoothly at a construction site. They are responsible for being the point of contact between the laborers and superintendent.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Oversee and ensure that all safety rules are being followed at all sites at all times
- Develop work schedules in accordance with the availability of employees contractors and labor laws and monitor the personnel
- Report project status to superiors site engineers and officials regularly
- Be the liaison between track laborers and superintendents
- Resolve conflicts or miscommunication that may happen onsite quickly and amicably
- Ability to delegate responsibilities and individual projects to the crew and contractors
Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Previous experience as aforeman in the railroad construction industry
- Knowledge of local quality safety and health guidelines for construction job sites
- Must have a great attitude and the ability to motivate team members on site
- Indepth understanding of construction operations and processes
- Understanding of use and maintenance of electrical and hydraulic systems
- Ability to communicate and report effectively
- Accountability and integrity are essential as the decisions made in the role affect countless others
- Willing to work in the elements in all weather conditions (extreme hot cold rain snow sleet etc.
- Recognize avoid and report potential hazards
- Must pass all required assessments/trainings
- Willing and able to travel to various job sites including those that require overnight stay and those that require short notice mobilization
- Available to work fulltime 40hrs/wk. subject to overtime oncall 24/7 alternating shifts nights weekends and holidays

- High school diploma or certification in a skilled trade a plus

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
