Organization Overview:The Goddard Riverside Community Center (Goddard Riverside) and the Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center (Isaacs Center) are wellestablished Manhattan communitybased agencies that support services to approximately 30000 New Yorkers. We are two of New York Citys leading human services organizations meeting the needs of children youth and families homeless individuals and older adults throughout Manhattan and New York City. The Isaacs Center focuses primarily on the needs of children and lowincome families outofschool and outofwork youth and aging New Yorkers. We operate at community centers located in the neighborhoods of East Harlem and Yorkville and seek to deliver programs that are impactful innovative and intergenerational.

Program Description: Goddard Riverside is a wellestablished Manhattan communitybased agency with an annual operating budget of approximately $50 million. Goddard Riverside is one of New York Citys leading human service organizations meeting the basic needs of children youth and families homeless people and older adults across Manhattan and New York City.

Position Summary:The Education and Workforce Development Department is seeking experienced dynamic and highly focused individual(s) to serve as a fulltime Outreach and Retention Coordinator in its Train and Earn Program located within Lincoln Square Neighborhood Center. This role operates under the direction of the programs Director and will focus on participant recruitment and support case managers with program retention. The specialist should have the skills and personality to forge relationships with OSOW youth and encourage their participation and continuation in the program by ensuring participants have access to supportive services especially during the follow up period in coordination with case management staff. The specialist should be a credible messenger with strong community connections.

Schedule: MondayFriday 35 hours per week

Salary Range: $55500 $63000

Participant Admissions and Onboarding 20

  • Collaborate with the EDW Participant Admissions Coordinator to identify OSOW (OutofSchool OutofWork) youth through community outreach social media and partnerships with local organizations.
  • Attend community events job fairs schools and youth centers to promote the program.
  • Familiarize new participants with the programs goals expectations and available support services.
  • Facilitate enrollment onboarding and the planning and implementation of orientation for newly enrolled participants.

Participant Engagement and Support 50

  • Utilize wraparound services offered through the Education and Workforce (EdWF) Services team to develop and implement programming that supports Train and Earn participants and alumni in creating postsecondary or postgraduation plans aligned with their goals.
  • Work closely with the Case Management Team to identify atrisk participants and develop individualized retention plans.
  • Share participant insights and feedback with case managers to enhance client support.
  • Track participant outcomes and provide ongoing support to ensure longterm success.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for alumni correspondence.
  • Manage a caseload of current participants and alumni assisting with their postsecondary plans.
  • Plan and lead networking events for alumni on topics such as career exploration and college persistence.
  • Collaborate with the Career and Alumni Services Hub (CASH) team to design a comprehensive professional development series for alumni pursuing fulltime positions.
  • Develop and facilitate educational and employment workshops tailored to participant and alumni interests.
  • Coordinate college and career exposure activities including onsite and offsite visits workshops and events managing logistics like scheduling transportation and catering.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of retention strategies and targeted outreach efforts to engage program graduates and alumni.
  • Use incentives and outreach to reengage young individuals who have previously left the program.

  • Collect and input necessary data ensuring accuracy and completeness for weekly monthly quarterly and annual reports.
  • Actively participate in staff activities and crossfunctional projects.
  • Attend staff meetings team meetings and content meetings as required.
  • Maintain data collection and metrics analysis for alumni relations activities.
  • Ensure data integrity by accurately updating the database with event attendance and case notes.

Educational Requirements and Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree preferred or an associates degree with at least 23 years of relevant and successful experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bi/Multilingual Spanish Haitian Creole French

Knowledge Skill and Abilities

  • Working Knowledge: Community outreach strategies including using social media and local partnerships Basic event planning logistics (e.g. securing space transportation catering) Case management practices and individualized retention plan development Data entry and maintaining database accuracy for reporting and tracking purposes Incentivebased strategies to engage or reengage program participants.
  • General Knowledge: Youth development principles and practices particularly for OSOW populations Educational and Workforce development programming including wraparound services College and career planning resources and pathways Professional development and career readiness programming Common barriers faced by atrisk youth and strategies to overcome them.
  • Thorough Knowledge: Program enrollment and onboarding processes including participant orientation. Alumni relations networking and communitybuilding strategies Designing and facilitating workshops and events tailored to youth and alumni needs Retention strategies for program participants and alumni Assessment and analysis of program effectiveness and participant outcomes.
  • Comprehensive Knowledge: Holistic approaches to supporting atrisk youth in achieving educational and career goals Development and implementation of comprehensive professional development series Coordination of largescale educational and career exposure activities Collaboration across teams (e.g. Case Management CASH) to align goals and improve participant outcomes data collection reporting and analysis.
  • Skills: Case Management Relationship Building Service Coordination Time Management Communication Collaboration/Teamwork Writing Proficiency

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

  • You may be required to lift up to 25 lbs or less.
  • Standing for extended periods while facilitating workshops and events
  • Environment: The role involves working in an office setting at program sites and occasionally in the community. Work may be conducted both inperson and virtually.
  • Emotional Demands: The position involves working with participants experiencing personal social or economic challenges. The Coordinator should be prepared to handle emotionally charged situations and support individuals facing mental health concerns trauma and systemic barriers.
  • Stress Factors: This role requires managing multiple cases meeting deadlines and adapting to evolving participant needs which may contribute to periods of high stress.
  • Mental Health Awareness: The organization encourages maintaining mental wellbeing and offers resources or support programs for staff mental health including supervision counseling resources or wellness initiatives.
