Job Description: Davis Ace Hardware is seeking reliable and customeroriented individuals to join our team as Cashiers. As the first point of contact for our customers Cashiers play a crucial role in providing a positive shopping experience. The primary responsibilities include processing transactions accurately and efficiently providing friendly and knowledgeable customer service and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area.
Responsibilities:
- Greet customers as they enter the store and thank them for their business upon exit
- Comfortable interacting with customers and team members
- Scan and ring up merchandise ensuring accuracy in pricing and quantities
- Process cash credit card and other forms of payment in compliance with company policies
- Assist customers with product inquiries locating items and general store information
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area
- Follow proper procedures for handling returns exchanges and refunds
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations
- Uphold company standards for customer service excellence
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous retail experience preferred but not required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Basic math proficiency
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks
- Flexible availability including evenings and weekends
