The Media Archivist will catalog convert archive and retrieve Regent Universitys digital media content. This position will ensure that digital media content labeling and storage standards are followed. This candidate will also assist clients with archiving and retrieving media. The Media Archivist is a part time position.
Essential duties:
- Work with leadership to maintain and update protocols/standards.
- Catalog pertinent information and metadata of Regents digital media content into the Media Content Archive system.
- Assist clients with archiving and retrieving media.
- Categorize existing media assets and move from current storage media to LTO Storage.
- Determine and maintain rights management of digital assets.
- Develop and maintain video collections and subsets.
- Help the operation of university events as needed.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of PC systems and database applications.
- Working knowledge of media archivist duties and procedures.
- Digital media asset management skills
- Knowledge of professional data storage solutions optimized for video storage that requires very highcapacity file storage such as Facilis FastTracker and Xen Data LTO preferred
- Ability to work a varied workweek and an occasional evening or weekend if required
Candidates must have:
- Excellent communication concentration organization and people skills
- Ability to plan and organize work with limited supervision
- Proven ability to work cooperatively with other people
- Demonstrated skills using standard work processing and spreadsheet software for reports graphics and statistics.
- Ability and willingness to follow Regents digital media content archiving standards and policies.
