Job Description

Responsibilities / Tasks

GEA Food Solutions North America Inc. is a worldwide leader in providing preparation processing and packaging total solutions for both the food and nonfood industry sectors. Our global organization offers the most extensive range of advanced solutions on the market today from single machines to complete turnkey production lines including software based productivity and line management solutions. As a software Engineer you will be responsible for the development maintenance and troubleshooting of Rockwell PLC HMI and motion control software.

  • Controls Technician is responsible for the development maintenance and troubleshooting of Rockwell PLC HMI and motion control software.
  • Responsible for the development maintenance and troubleshooting of Rockwell PLC HMI and Motion Control Software
  • Responsible for in house testing of developed Rockwell PLC/HMI software
  • Responsible for software modifications at customer sites as required
  • Responsible for software documentation.
  • Work closely with Sales Engineering Shop and Customer service
  • Control Panel design a definite asset.
  • Possible 5060 travel

Your Profile / Qualifications

Education:

  • Technical School or equivalent work experience PLC programming Electronics Troubleshooting Industrial Process Controls

Skills

  • 5 plus years of experience with Software / Hardware Troubleshooting required

  • Knowledge of EPlan. Create new drawings and update existing.

  • Experience in back panel building.

  • Knowledge of PLC Programming in particular and AllenBradley.

  • Motion control and higher level programming e.g. Visual Basic a Plus.

  • Experience in developing software projects and customized software solutions.

  • Experience in fault diagnostics in PLC programming on machines.

  • Familiar with Industrial process equipment particularly Food Processing

  • B&R programming Bernecker and Rainer) Siemens a Plus.
