Job Description

First International Bank and Trust is a $5.5 billion familyowned community bank. Our Kotapay division is a leader in ACH processing and in 2023 announced its entrance into bankingasaservice.

Kotapay is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Payments Risk Manager to manage and maintain the risk management strategy for our payment products partners and platforms. In this role you will ensure the safe and compliant operation of ACH digital wallet card transactions and other payment methods. You will manage risk assessments compliance with BSA/AML regulations and identify potential fraud or transaction anomalies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain risk assessments for payment products partners and platforms.
  • Prepare and present risk and compliance related reports for senior management.
  • Maintain ongoing reviews of payment systems ensuring timely approvals and updates.
  • Manage risk strategies for ACH digital wallets cards and other funds transfer methods.
  • Ensure compliance with BSA/AML OFAC guidelines and relevant regulations.
  • Monitor suspicious activity using data and technology implementing detection tools.
  • Address paymentrelated risks including fraud transaction anomalies and emerging threats.
  • Lead the adverse event process and prepare reports for senior management.
  • Document and update standard operating procedures to maintain compliance.
  • Collaborate with internal audit with requests and resolve possible findings with corrective actions plans.
  • Interact regularly with corporate risk staff to ensure compliance with corporate policies.
  • Provide training and guidance on payments risk and compliance.
  • Supervise and mentor a team including recruitment performance evaluation and discipline.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum five years of leadership experience in risk management compliance or AML/BSA with expertise in payments fintech and electronic transfers experience is required.
  • Bachelors degree in risk management business administration or a related field preferred.
  • Indepth knowledge of rules and regulations for prepaid cards debit cards ACH and realtime payments.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience using AML/fraud detection systems (e.g. Actimize Verafin Unit21.
  • Proven ability to assess all types of risk and implement controls for mitigation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills particularly relating to clearly and concisely explaining complex concepts and identified risks.
  • Familiarity with card network rules and NACHA rules.
  • Professional certifications (CFCS CAMS CRCM CFE) are a plus.
