Plans organizes and delivers instruction in didactic laboratory and/or online settings to promote student success within a community college setting and align with the NAACLS curriculum guidelines.
Supports and promotes the college and departmental missions centered on excellence in teaching and learning through quality instruction curriculum enhancement and service.
Collaborates with department chair faculty and peers to evaluate revise and develop curriculum to cultivate the mastery of course content.
Demonstrates technological literacy and innovation in the delivery of instruction.
Works collaboratively as part of a cohesive academic team.
Assists with implementation of college policies objectives and functions in accordance with SF college philosophy mission strategic initiatives and procedures.
Participates in departmental meetings and collegewide meetings as needed.
Serves as a professional role model and mentor for students and provides frequent timely assessment and clear feedback regarding academic performance.
Appropriately documents student progress and maintain records including attendance grading and student learning outcomes.
Develops methods that fairly and accurately assess students progress in achieving the stated learning outcomes/objectives.
Correlates clinical education with didactic education and evaluates student performance and learning.
May evaluate consult and instruct students during their clinical rotations.
Maintains office hours proportionate to the instructional assignment.
Assists the Program Director with preparing reports for internal and external audiences.
Maintains current knowledge of the discipline and educational methodologies through continuing professional development.
Strictly honors the privacy and security of student records and other sensitive information according to appropriate state federal and college regulations policies and procedures.
Works a flexible schedule at multiple worksites.
Provides service excellence through courteous informed accessible and professional engagement.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Reports to:Chair Center for Emerging Technology
Required:A masters degree or higher or a masters degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in any recognized academic major in biological chemical physical or clinical laboratory science including but not limited to medical dental pharmacology/pharmaceutical veterinary physiology and pathology
Additional Requirements:For candidates appointed to a clinical setting documentation of immunizations and current CPR/BLS certification are required. A criminal background check will be conducted.
Preferred: Relevant teaching experience within a community college setting. Current American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification. Candidates that have at least one year of clinical laboratory experience.
