Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certification as a Moderate Special Needs Teacher
  • Preferred or Intensive Special Needs Teacher

REPORTS TO: Building Principal and PPS Director

JOB GOAL: To consult with teachers and provide direct instruction to IEP students.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Act as liaison for each assigned IEP student.
  1. Provide tutorial and small group instruction for IEP specified services.
  1. Develop educational plans (IEPs) to meet students needs.
  1. Assist regular education teachers in the successful inclusion of IEP students.
  1. Consult with teachers guidance and other support personnel for student goals educational modifications; make up work untimed tests organizational skills and other skills stipulated on the IEP.
  1. Attend team meetings for new students and provide services (including writing of new IEP or amendment) as determined by team.
  1. Coordinate with guidance counselors to oversee the tutorial program and schedule for any assigned IEP students.
  1. Works as a team member for other specified duties at Gardner High School.
  1. Complete all paperwork (including referrals for reevaluation) within the specified time limits.
  1. Act as a resource for parents teachers and administrators.
  1. Chair team meetings.

SALARY BENEFITS: Per Teacher Contract
