Software Systems Engineer Craftsman

Support critical defense operations as a Software Systems Engineer Craftsman in Colorado Springs CO. In this role you will develop and apply software solutions to evaluate the performance of groundbased missile warning systems. Your work will directly impact national security through operational testing data analysis and performance assessments.

Essential Duties

Software Development & Testing

• Develop software tools to support operational testing of DoD mission systems.
• Design and implement software solutions to analyze mission data and assess system performance.
• Conduct realworld and simulated environment testing to evaluate system effectiveness.

Data Analysis & Reporting

• Apply statistical methods using platforms like MATLAB to analyze test data.
• Generate detailed test reports with statistical results graphs and findings.
• Identify deficiencies and provide recommendations for system improvements.

Collaboration & Process Improvement

• Collaborate with engineers test analysts and project managers to ensure test requirements are clearly defined.
• Provide technical support for test planning and posttest analysis.
• Develop and enhance automated tools to improve test environment efficiency.

Required Qualifications

• 610 years of experience in Software Engineering.
• Proficiency in MATLAB.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Statistics Math Engineering or related field.
• Proficiency in programming languages: Java JavaScript HTML CSS Python Perl and scripting languages.
• Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Familiarity with Atlassian Suite (JIRA Bitbucket/Gitlab Confluence).
• Strong understanding of statistical methods including data distribution sampling and regression analysis.
• Experience with DoD mission systems and operational test planning.
• Knowledge of US Space Force test and evaluation directives.
• Familiarity with missile warning or missile defense systems.

Education & Certification

• Bachelors degree in a relevant field is preferred OR additional years of experience may substitute for degree requirement.

• Top Secret/SCI

• Less than 10.
