Job Description Summary
The College of Performing Arts (CoPA) seeks an experienced and creative Social Media Assistant to help generate engaging content across various social media platforms. In this role you will work closely with CoPAs Communication & Marketing Specialist to create edit and post content that highlights the college: the dance theatre and music departments students/alumni faculty projects and upcoming events. Ideal candidates will be proactive creative and have a strong understanding of social media trends and best practices. Experience in basic vertical video editing is essential. Responsibilities
Lead in the filming editing and posting of social media content ensuring it aligns with CoPAs messaging and branding. Focus on vertical video content ensuring strong editing skills for Instagram Reels TikTok and similar formats. Post content across multiple platforms including Instagram TikTok LinkedIn and Facebook. Monitor and manage CoPAs social media notifications responding to comments and messages resharing tagged posts and engage with peer organizations to foster increased engagement across our channels. Focus on promoting CoPAs activities including student life alumni and faculty projects department productions behindthescenes content and other relevant initiatives. Help coordinate engaging content types such as Instagram story takeovers Day in the Life videos Get Ready with Me videos and more. Stay current with social media trends and suggest innovative ideas for CoPA to authentically engage with trending topics or formats. Collaborate with the Communication & Marketing Specialist to ensure content aligns with broader CoPA marketing strategies and objectives.
Required Qualifications
Experience using social media platforms (e.g. Instagram Facebook TikTok and/or LinkedIn) for personal or public facing purposes. Familiarity with social media trends and popular formats. Creative thinking and an interest in experimenting with new content ideas. Familiarity with Google Suite and Microsoft Office applications. A positive proactive attitude when interacting with students faculty and staff. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines consistently. Ability to collaborate with a team contribute ideas and take constructive feedback.
