**Position Overview:**
The Elder Caregiver plays a vital role in providing compassionate care and support to elderly individuals who may require assistance with daily activities due to agerelated issues or health conditions. This role involves helping seniors maintain their independence ensuring their safety and wellbeing and providing companionship and emotional support.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. Assist elderly individuals with personal care tasks including bathing grooming dressing and toileting.
2. Help seniors with mobility by providing support with walking transferring from bed to chair or using mobility aids.
3. Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare professionals and assist with medication management.
4. Prepare nutritious meals and snacks according to dietary requirements and preferences.
5. Engage in light housekeeping duties such as tidying up living spaces doing laundry and ensuring a clean and safe environment.
6. Monitor and record vital signs symptoms and overall health status of elderly individuals.
7. Provide companionship and emotional support by engaging in conversation playing games or accompanying on walks or outings.
8. Assist with errands such as grocery shopping picking up prescriptions or scheduling appointments.
9. Help elderly individuals stay mentally and physically active by encouraging participation in activities and exercises.
10. Collaborate with family members and healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible care for the elderly individual.
11. Stay alert to any changes in the seniors condition and report concerns or emergencies to appropriate parties.
12. Maintain confidentiality and respect the dignity and privacy of elderly individuals at all times.
**Requirements:**
1. Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards elderly individuals.
2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Previous experience in caregiving or elder care preferred.
4. Patience understanding and the ability to handle challenging situations with tact and sensitivity.
5. Physical stamina and strength to assist with lifting transferring and providing handson care.
6. Basic knowledge of elderly care principles including fall prevention infection control and medication management.
7. Ability to follow care plans and instructions provided by healthcare professionals and family members.
8. Willingness to undergo background checks and training as required by regulatory standards.
9. Flexibility to work shifts including evenings weekends and holidays as needed.
