Description: The Engineering and Maintenance Manager leads a team to safely maintain the facilities implement improvements and coordinate capital activities for the Anniston Site.
This position is located in Anniston AL
Position Summary:The Engineering and Maintenance Manager position is primarily responsible for safely maintaining reliable equipment across the site.This role is also responsible for leading the engineering team to implement improvement and upgrade projects (capital and noncapital).This role also helps coordinate contractor activities when supplemental resources are needed for specific tasks/skills.This role is part of the Site Leadership Team involved in corporate teams and multisite activities also.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead with a ZeroIncident Mindset and support site PSM quality and security initiatives.
Coach and develop direct reports to clarify responsibilities understand career goals provide opportunities for growth and reward exceptional performance.
Provide leadership to develop prioritize and facilitate improvement activities (Six Sigma capital reliability etc.
Function as site capital coordinator trained in the methodologies to implement capital projects and assisting teams to meet project goals.
Work with offsite resources (internal and external) when needed to assist with project engineering or implementation activities.
Ensure site mechanical and electrical maintenance systems are maintained (MI RCFA QA/QC critical spares etc.
Represent the site on various corporate teams and initiatives.
Ensure capital projects meet Eastman expectations and conformance to standards.
Actively involved in hiring and onboarding processes which include: recruiting screening interviewing mentoring and coaching activities.
Skills and Knowledge necessary to perform the position:
Experience in a PSM facility or similar experience is required.
Chemical process operations knowledge is important to this role.
Strategic capability to plan for short term and long term capital needs.
Knowledge of technical & manufacturing equipment specifications with respect to accepted ASME NBIC API codes and standards
Understanding Failure Modes and Effects Analysis Root Cause Failure Analysis and Reliability Centered Maintenance
Good organizational and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to solicit input and support of others at various levels in the organization.
Experience with SAP maintenance & project systems as well as skill in other general computer software programs (Word Excel Microsoft Project etc..
Experience utilizing Stage Gate Capital Work systems.
Qualifications
Required Education: A Bachelors Degree in Chemical Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution is required for this role. A professional engineers license is preferred.
Required Experience: 10 years of operations projects reliability and/or leadership roles in the chemical petrochemical or similar industry with demonstrated leadership skills.
