Job Description Summary
The Department of English and Media Studies at Bentley University invites applications for a lecturer to teach the required general education core courses of Critical Reading and Writing and Multimodal Communication along with potential opportunities to teach courses in cultural studies and the candidates specialty. Candidates may also design and teach sections of the required firstyear experience course Falcon Discovery Seminar.Teaching load is four courses per semester 8 courses per academic year. Salary and benefits are competitive. Bentleys campus is located in a Boston suburb. Internal candidates and applicants with experience and training in teaching multilingual learners are encouraged to apply.
This is a oneyear contractual position for AY 2526 with the possibility of renewal. After five successive contracts lecturers are eligible for promotion to senior lecturer status.
The English and Media Studies (EMS) department offers courses in writing and communication literature film media studies creative industries studies and media production. EMS faculty also manage the Universitys Writing Center Media and Culture Lab (MAC Lab) and ESOL Center. The departments mission is to support student acquisition of critical thinking and communication skills and to educate students to be positive contributing civic members in their communities and beyond.

Minimum Qualifications:
PhD in English Communication Rhetoric/Composition or related field by July 1 2026 required. Applicants who are ABD will be considered; however candidates already holding the PhD will be given priority.
