BGC Okanagan is hiring multiple casual/relief roles for Childcare Workers in our School Aged Child Care Programs in the South Okanagan.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for caring nurturing supervision and safety of children 5 12 years old.
  • Responsible for implementing activities for children 5 12 years old.
  • Use Club Vans to drop off and pick up children from school and transport to various sites for recreational purposes.
  • Establish open communication with parents/care givers.
  • Ensure that specific goals of children and program are met.
  • Ensure Agency Policies and Procedures program standards WCB standards Community Care Licensing regulations risk management requirements and general facility safety standards are met
  • Ensure that the Agency Mission Statement Vision and Core Values are incorporated into everyday practice.

Qualifications:

  • A diploma certificate and/or relevant experience working with children in recreation education or other social services.
  • 20 hour responsible adult training or willingness to take internally upon hire
  • Must be at least 19 years of age (as per Provincial Licensing Standards)
  • Current First Aid certificate and Food Safe (or willingness to obtain)
  • Successful completion of Agency screening process including criminal record check

This position is open to all applicants.

This position requires union membership with CUPE.


Hours:
Monday to Friday; Casual/oncall*
*Normally 1:00pm 6:15pm with increased hours over the school breaks.

Rate of Pay: $22.60 per hour

Closing Date: February 12 2025
