BGC Okanagan is hiring multiple casual/relief roles for Childcare Workers in our School Aged Child Care Programs in the South Okanagan.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for caring nurturing supervision and safety of children 5 12 years old.
- Responsible for implementing activities for children 5 12 years old.
- Use Club Vans to drop off and pick up children from school and transport to various sites for recreational purposes.
- Establish open communication with parents/care givers.
- Ensure that specific goals of children and program are met.
- Ensure Agency Policies and Procedures program standards WCB standards Community Care Licensing regulations risk management requirements and general facility safety standards are met
- Ensure that the Agency Mission Statement Vision and Core Values are incorporated into everyday practice.
Qualifications:
- A diploma certificate and/or relevant experience working with children in recreation education or other social services.
- 20 hour responsible adult training or willingness to take internally upon hire
- Must be at least 19 years of age (as per Provincial Licensing Standards)
- Current First Aid certificate and Food Safe (or willingness to obtain)
- Successful completion of Agency screening process including criminal record check
This position is open to all applicants.
This position requires union membership with CUPE.
Hours: Monday to Friday; Casual/oncall*
*Normally 1:00pm 6:15pm with increased hours over the school breaks.
Rate of Pay: $22.60 per hour
