QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate must hold a valid Virginia teaching license with an endorsement in Mathematics or be eligible for one. A minimum of a Bachelors degree in Mathematics Education or a related field is required while a Masters degree is preferred. The candidate should have a solid understanding of geometry and other mathematical concepts demonstrating proficiency in teaching both Geometry and Algebra 1. Prior teaching experience at the middle or high school level is preferred. Strong communication organizational and interpersonal skills are essential along with the ability to effectively integrate technology into the classroom to enhance student learning. A commitment to continuous professional development and staying up to date with educational best practices and standards is critical.
DESCRIPTION
The Geometry Teacher will be responsible for delivering highquality instruction in Geometry to middle or high school students fostering an engaging and supportive learning environment. The teacher will develop lesson plans aligned with state standards promote critical thinking and problemsolving skills and ensure that students gain a comprehensive understanding of geometry concepts. In addition to teaching Geometry the instructor will assist students in building a strong foundation in Algebra 1 preparing them for future success in higherlevel mathematics courses.

SUPERVISION
Work is performed under the supervision of the School Principal and other administrators as appropriate.
WORK CONDITIONS
Duties performed are typically in the school setting. Performs professional work providing support and consultative services for assigned department/program. Work requires frequent standing sitting walking and light lifting. Some assignments are subject to deadlines inherent in tailoring and delivering programs to meet the needs of diverse groups. Employees may be required to perform emergency and nonemergency healthrelated services for students as needed.
