Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Business
Minimum of 3 years experience working in Patient Access Services department within Hospital Operations or have supported Patient Access related systems
Working knowledge of Revenue cycle Operations
Epic certification(s) desired or must obtain Epic Certification as outlined by program requirements.
Skills/Abilities/Competencies
Ability to apply revenue cycle workflow to the design of information systems.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong problem solving and negotiation skills.
Ability to effectively conduct small meetings both formal and informal.
Selfmotivated independent and possesses the ability to learn quickly
Ability to successfully negotiate and collaborate with others of different skill sets backgrounds an levels within and external to the organization
Ability to assimilate and understand new software releases and succeed in a changing environment
Ability to review project deliverables for completeness quality and compliance with established project standards.
Ability to document and communicate the status of progress against plans taking corrective action as necessary
Working Environment
Office setting with some local travel between Partners Healthcare System sites.
May include oncall coverage as business needs dictate
Some travel for training to Epic Corporate location in Madison Wisconsin

General Overview
The Business Analyst reports directly to the Business Analyst Team Manager within the Revenue System Support Team; s/he is part of a team dedicated to front line support creation of test scripts creation of functional specs and general process improvements. The Epic application that supports Patient Access is ADT/Prelude functionality within that application are but not limited to:
Bed Management
Environmental and Transport Services through IVR
Inpatient Bedded Workflows
Obstetric and Newborn Workflows
ED and Surgical Workflows
Outpatient Workflows
Patient Workqueues
Financial Clearance (Authorization Referrals Insurance eligibility processing)
Financial Counseling
Responsibilities
Provides certified Epic expertise and experience for successful product support
Provides certified Epic expertise to analyze organizations current business practices and translate them into configurations and workflows
Brings suggested workflows to Patient Access Council for Approval
Completes specific tasks as directed.
Tracks and resolves issues and action items
Recognizes communicates and escalates concerns relevant to critical path and/or timeline of issues in a timely manner.
Develops and maintains models of business and system requirements
Documents and analyzes business processes
Develops subject matter expertise and maintains models and documentation of business and system requirements
Analyzes business processes to ensure proper system configuration
Business Requirements gathering
Works with application team to ensure successful system build to support business processes
Creates and maintains all required functional specs and user documentation
Attends weekly team meetings to discuss team and project related activities issues change communications and updates
Responsible for test script development and materials and performs unit system and integrated testing tasks
Business education coordinating function and structure with superuser and training program
Support Business process improvement (workflows) to optimize system use
Support Policies and Procedures
Data definition and design and adherence to corporate model
Trouble issues and assist with performing regular system updates related to the complementary coding applications
Other duties as required
