The technician working under the direction of the lead technician and outpatient oncology pharmacist: Sets up bins for mixing with proper medication and bag and tubing and filter requirements Assist pharmacist in clean room with bagging medications and scanning barcodes for medication charging Prepares IV chemotherapy investigational and other medications using aseptic technique Adheres to safety requirements in the handling and preparation of chemotherapy and other hazardous agents according to current guidelines (USP 797 USP 800 ASHP NIOSH). Assists in maintaining a clean work environment Conducts daily and monthly cleaning of hoods Orders receives and restocks inventory Checks expiration dates and rotates medications syringes IV bags and other products Properly disposes of waste products Performs quality control checks Delivers medications as needed Receives packages and returned items as needed
Current MA license required.PTCBCertification required.High School diploma or GED equivalent required.1 year of eperience as a Pharm Tech in a Hospital setting preferred
