About the role:

The Production Manager Woodshop is responsible for overseeing all aspects of our woodshop operations leading a team of over 12 employees to ensure efficient production quality control and safety. This role is critical in developing and maintaining team members skills while fostering a highperforming safetyfocused culture. Through handson leadership employee engagement and process optimization this manager drives continuous improvement cost reduction ontime product delivery and exceptional customer service.

What you will be doing:

  • Oversee all woodshop production processes ensuring raw materials are efficiently converted into highquality finished products.
  • Lead coach and support team members to ensure consistent of woodworking operations.
  • Facilitate training and development programs to enhance team skills and meet key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Develop and manage production schedules balancing workflow efficiency with interdepartmental needs to meet customer expectations.
  • Maintain and manage the departmental budget optimizing material usage labor supplies and training expenses.
  • Enforce and promote a strong safety culture ensuring compliance with workplace safety regulations and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues maintaining high standards for product quality and process efficiency.

What you need:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Industrial Engineering Manufacturing or a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • At least five years of experience in a woodshop environment (e.g. woodworking cabinetmaking furniture manufacturing) and/or leadership experience in a manufacturing or production setting with transferable skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot repair and maintain machinery experience with woodworking machinery a plus.
  • Proven leadership and teambuilding skills to effectively manage and develop hourly staff.
  • Knowledge of domestic and exotic solid woods veneers and woodworking materials is a plus.
  • Proficiency in woodworking techniques including measuring millwork drawings and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to give clear instructions and support a team with varying levels of English proficiency.
  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Gmail and companyspecific software. CAD experience is a plus.
  • Excellent problemsolving skills with the ability to implement solutions quickly and effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fastpaced production environment.
  • Detailoriented with a proactive handson approach to process improvement.
  • Positive professional demeanor with a resourceful and selfmotivated attitude.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs. frequently.
  • Physical capability to stand for up to 10 hours a day and perform repetitive movements such as gripping grasping twisting and lifting lumber and panels.
