Job Description

Peterson Cat has a need for an Inside Sales Representative at our Hillsboro OR location.

SUMMARY

This position will have responsibility for monitoring and providing sales coverage and support to Petersons small fleet customers. Contact will be made through both direct and indirect channels. The Inside Sales Representative (ISR) will be assigned their own customers for which they will be responsible for sales coverage and developing new business. Further the ISR will be responsible for all walkin customer opportunities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for promoting and selling Cat equipment within an assigned territory.

  • Responds to the needs of walkin customers and prospects.

  • Presents equipment quotes and finance options to all interested customers assigned or prospects.

  • Completes all required sales documentation including finance contracts.

  • Makes minimum 80 out bound phone contacts per week.

  • Accountable for Customer Relationship Management (CRM) input with assigned customers.

  • Conducts proactive account management on assigned accounts by completing the customer profile function in Sales Link.

  • Gathers and updates customer equipment lists.

  • Uses Sales Link to document customer information leads activities and sales transactions.

  • Recognizes and develops new prospects in the territory. Provides informational brochures and other literature to inform customers and influence buying decisions.

  • Informs customers of new product developments.

  • Presents equipment features and benefits to customers determines additional information needed to meet the customers specific needs.

  • When appropriate provides written summary that includes the cost benefits to the customer by purchasing Caterpillar equipment and the equipment features and benefits compared to similar competition.

  • Stay current on Cat and competitive products in order to offer the best solutions based on customer interests and concerns.

  • Follows all sales processes and procedures.

  • Partners with sales management to ensure marketing campaigns are relevant.

  • Assists with customer surveys as needed.

  • Works safely at all times adheres to all applicable safety policies and complies with all company policies procedures and standards.

  • Maintains punctual regular and predictable attendance.

QUALIFICATIONS

Associates Degree from a fully accredited college; and a minimum of three years of directly related sales experience preferably in a heavy industrial environment; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
