Overview
We are hiring at UofL Health South Hospital
Location: 1903 W. Hebron Ln.
Shepherdsville KY 40165
Shift: Part time 7p7a
About Us:
UofL Health is investing in the health of Bullitt County and the surrounding area with an expansion of UofL Health Medical Center South to become an inpatient hospital UofL Health South Hospital. South Hospital is expected to open in early 2024 and will add approximately 100000 square feet of new space to the existing facility. South Hospital will include a 10bed intensive care unit medical/surgical patient rooms six operating rooms new cardiac catheterization lab expanded emergency department centralized sterile processing area laboratory pharmacy cardiopulmonary respiratory therapy and more.

Responsibilities
Job Summary:
The Emergency Department Tech provides clinical patient care support in a caring safe and efficient manner under the direction of a RN. The Emergency Department Tech also performs other functions including clerical duties admitting and discharging patients in multiple computer systems phlebotomy EKG lead placement trauma care and respiratory functions.
Some Primary Responsibilities:
- Measures and documents intake and output heights and weights and vital signs.
- Verifies all patients are registered by an admission specialist before discharge corrects any errors in systems.
- Assists with admitting physical examination transferring and discharging patients.
- Performs venipuncture for specimen collection under the direction of the RN. Appropriately labels and ensures delivery to the Clinical Laboratory.
- Performs routine 12lead electrocardiography testing under the direction of the RN.
- Assist MDs and NP/PAs with procedure setups including sterile fields.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- High School Graduate or equivalent required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completion of a recognized Clinical Assistant Medical Assistant or EMT Training Program or Nursing Students who have completed Fundamentals of Nursing Course from an accredited school of nursing.
- Certification as a Nursing Assistant (C.N.A) Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
