Job Description

The Compensation Specialist is responsible for maintenance of Vail Resorts Compensation programs systems and yearly processes which includes Base Wages Incentive Programs Annual Stock Grants and salary survey administration.

Responsibilities:

  • Analytical support for design/modification implementation and administration of compensation programs including base pay and incentive pay.
  • Assists with incentive processing including administration of payouts and coordination with payroll and local HR
  • Continually identify Compensation best practices to support new initiatives and analysis of current programs.
  • Monitors compliance with all compensationrelated federal and state regulations including minimum wage requirements and exempt status.
  • Coordinates with HRIS Payroll and HR to update systems and provide communications to the field.
  • Compensation liaison with HRIS to ensure systems capture and maintain required data to meet compliance and compensation department requirements. Provides functional support for setup and testing.
  • Maintenance of PeopleSoft Job Codes Salary Plans Salary Grades and Position Management Systems
  • Assist in updates and application of Compensation Policy and Procedures including administration of Compensation SharePoint site.
  • Assists Corporate and Local HRs in attaining compensation information and provide report analytics as required.
  • Participates in local and national salary surveys. Maintains archive of survey information.
  • Conducts job evaluations and market research for nonexempt level positions.
  • Assists with Affirmative Action reporting FLSA Compliance (CME driver exemption 7i etc) and other Compliance processes.
  • Assist in preparation of Year End Compensation processes including:
    • The analysis and administration of Annual Merit Increases MIP and data file uploads
    • Develops tools and processes to more efficiently and effectively administer annual year end processes
    • Processes changes to the compensation structure and updates Compensation Manuals
    • Facilitates financial forecasting and reporting analytics for YE
    • Management of annual performance ratings into PeopleSoft
  • Develops and documents administrative procedures to establish controls necessary to achieve accuracy of accruals payments and reporting and maintain compliance with regulatory and audit requirements.
  • Provides all analytic and support for monthly TR Dashboard reporting
  • Yearly Compensation Process coordination including:
    • The gathering checking and upload of annual merit increases
    • The gathering of all requests for market adjustment
    • The administration of the bonus process by helping with the quarterly accruals as well as yearend evaluations and coordination of the payout. Weekly administration and monitoring of Grade activity termed employee reports equity information requests
    • Changes to base wage structure
  • Assists in M&A/Transition activity as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 13 years experience in either Human Resources or Compensation required
  • Advanced Excel Database Programs and Access experience required
  • Extremely high attention to detail required
  • Excellent Communication skills required
  • PeopleSoft HRMS experience preferred
  • SuccessFactors experience preferred
