Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION Teach Musical Theatre and related courses to a diverse student population. Direct stage productions. Mentor student groups clubs and leadership bodies. Actively engage with the broader community though outreach recruiting and alumni relations. Participate in curriculum development and serve on department division college and district committees as necessary to maintain and improve the instructional program; participate in appropriate professional development activities. Participate in cocurricular activities including planning implementing and teaching in special programs designed to support student success. Participate in the formulation of Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) and the Student Learning Outcomes assessment cycle. Maintain formal office and campus hours; participate in department and division meetings. Maintain current knowledge of instructional methods and new technologies pertinent to areas of assignment; learn and apply emerging technologies and advances (e.g. computer software applications) as necessary to perform duties in an efficient organized and timely manner. Teach scheduled classes and perform related duties as assigned including timely compliance with clerical and administrative responsibilities; comply with district college and division policies in the performance of duties. Instruct and assist in the growth and success of a diverse population of students through careful preparation of course materials effective teaching methodologies and informed critical feedback on assignments and discussions. Develop culturally relevant course content culturally responsive pedagogical techniques and effective practices for engaging students who are diverse and/or are students who are historically underserved. The ideal candidate should have experience in this area with African American Latinx Native Americans Pacific Islanders and other disproportionately impacted students. Work cooperatively with staff and students. Evening and/or weekend assignments may be required as part of the regular contract.

Desirable Qualifications
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS Demonstrated experience and/or extensive training directing stage productions in a variety of venue types for a variety of audiences. Teaching experience preferably in Theatre in an accredited postsecondary institution using multimodal approaches and studentcentered pedagogy to meet the needs of first generation immigrant lowincome and other disproportionally impacted students. Demonstrated commitment to examine reflect and modify instructional relational and classroom practices to effectively engage and our campus community with the goal of closing equity gaps. Experience successfully working in collaboration with fulltime/adjunct faculty and staff in coordinating and maintaining relevant innovative and upto date curriculum that responds to the needs of historically underrepresented students. Demonstrated success with outreach program building recruiting and community building and knowledge of current industry trends and new technologies and evidence of significant connections within the professional national and regional theatre scene. Experience with and/or demonstrated ability to create positive outcomes for all students. This includes the ability to effectively engage the colleges diverse student population and the ability to address equity inclusion and diversity issues in the classroom. Knowledge of business/accounting best practices budget creation/oversight and travel/touring logistics.
Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Masters or Master of Fine Arts in drama/theater arts/ performance OR Bachelors or Bachelor of Fine Arts in drama/theater arts/performance AND Masters in comparative literature English communication studies speech literature or humanities OR Possess a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject matter area. OR The equivalent. Equivalent qualifications may include related education training employment and professional experience that would be equal to the required degree(s) and experience in this field as determined by the District Equivalency Committee.
