Job Description
Eurasia Group is seeking a motivated analyst of Chinas politics and political economy. This role would involve working with the current China team to deepen coverage of macroeconomic policy financial markets and economic reform implementation at the sectorlevel. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of the contours of Chinese economic policymaking. We are looking for a candidate with robust training in both politics and in macroeconomics.
In this role you will assess the politics of economic policies in China that are of relevance to Eurasia Groups financial and corporate clients. You will have the ability to analyze specific sectors of the Chinese economy. You will perform indepth research and will write both short analyses and longer papers. You will therefore have excellent analytical and presentation (oral and written) skills and the ability to write in a good succinct style at native English standard.
We are looking for a candidate with a degree in politics or economics (or equivalent work experience). Your background will need to convey your capacity as a researcher and your knowledge of China. You must understand the relevance of your research to a broad range of investors and companies. Previous consulting experience and incountry experience is preferred. Fluent Mandarin Chinese skills are required.
