Job Summary
Reporting to the Trades Manager the Plumber safely performs tasks of moderate complexity within the plumbing trades specialty water & waste distribution system gas distribution and the specialized areas of swimming pool and fountain operation and maintenance.
Job Duties
- 50 Use hand tools (e.g. pliers screwdrivers plungers) power tools (e.g. drills reciprocating saws) and specialized tools (e.g. snakes die cutters) to perform maintenance repairs and installations on water waste and natural gas systems. Tasks include replacing fixtures appliances valves hot water tanks gas line connections and installing new piping (copper black pipe PVC). (Essential)
- 40 Troubleshoot and analyze plumbing issues of medium to high complexity with some guidance from senior plumbers. This includes clearing lines of debris replacing fixtures and appliances and repairing or installing plumbing systems. Perform basic maintenance on swimming pools and fountains such as cleaning adjusting valves monitoring heat and pH levels and adding chemicals to maintain proper balance. (Essential)
- 10 Assist fully qualified plumbers with more complex tasks such as backflow prevention and gas meter connections. Occasionally work with other trades on complicated repairs or system replacements. (Essential)
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED. Plumbing trade certificate(s) of training.
- Four years of experience in the plumbing trade along with a solid understanding of commercial lavatories and fixtures.
- Proficient in reading blueprints for plumbing systems and skilled in sizing and estimating these systems.
- Expertise in brazing working with fused seal pipe and fittings and soldering copper pipe (ranging from 1/4 to 3 is essential.
- Experience in cleaning repairing and servicing all types of interior and exterior drains including clay plastic and cast iron. Skilled in freezing pipes ranging from 3/8 to 3.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word Excel PowerPoint) Google drives/folders/forms Adobe Acrobat Web Editing and social media applications or any combination of productivity programs applicable to position responsibilities.
- Demonstrated ability to be detailoriented and thorough; skilled at anticipating and preventing potential problems and handling a wide variety of tasks with efficiency and accuracy.
