Iberia Medical Center is currently looking to hire aCertified Surgical Technician on a PRN basis.TheSurgical Techassists with the nursing care of patients receiving surgical care and surgical intervention. Duties include scrubbing and other related procedures including but not limited to: instrument setup delivery during procedures assisting the surgeons instrument cleaning processing and maintenance. Effectively interact with patient significant others and other heath team members. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical psycho/social education safety and related criteria for the newborn pediatric adolescent adult and geriatric population.
EDUCATION
- High School Graduate &/or graduate of accredited Surgical Technology Program.
- Eligible but not mandatory to sit for the Surgical Technologist Certification Exam or grandfathered for LPNs and OR Techs who received on the job training.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION
- Current certification in the State of Louisiana if applicable.
JOB KNOWLEDGE
- Basic knowledge of suture materials and techniques.
- Basic knowledge of biology and chemistry.
- Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
- Thorough knowledge of surgical procedures maintenance and care of equipment.
- Working knowledge of electrical laparoscopic and powered surgical equipment.
