Job Title: Practice Lead

Location: Canberra Australian Capital Territory 2601 Australia

Role Type: Fulltime / Hybrid (On and Off Site)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Practice Lead to work in collaboration with our Support Services Team and Management team to contribute and lead to the ongoing development and implementation of our support services. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving a culture of continuous learning collaboration and exceeding quality standards through delivery of evidencebased frameworks and practice management.

This role requires strong practice leadership skills a deep understanding of therapeutic and active support frameworks competencies and practices and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders. Capability Support is implementing Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) and has plans to implement the Sanctuary Model in collaboration with The MacKillop Institute.

This role is identified as a Key Management Personnel at Capability Support and will be bound to the Key Management Personnel Policy. Key Management Personnel are defined as roles within the organisation that have significant authority and responsibility such as Directors Executives and Senior Management.

Responsibilities:

As the Practice Lead youll have the oversight and responsibility for the Practice Frameworks and development at Capability. Youll report directly to the Board of Directors and collaborate with other Key Management Personnel to implement frameworks plans and deliver on service outcomes for our Clients through our professional staff.

  • Assist with the development and implementation of longterm strategic vision for Support Services within Capability
  • Provide mentoring training and development to Management Operational Support and Frontline Staff Members in line with evidencebased models
  • Foster and drive a culture of continuous learning collaboration and exceeding quality standards.
  • Maintain currency of training in evidencebased support models as directed by Capability
  • Lead develop and provide guidance for team meetings staff trainings supervision and practice development sessions
  • Review incidents identify trends and areas of improvement for Capabilitys Support Services Team in line with evidencebased support models
  • Commitment to ongoing feedback design and improvement of the delivery of services to Children Young People and People with Disability.
  • Providing direct operational support to members of the Support Services Team for particularly complex Care Teams professionals meetings and external meetings where appropriate
  • Advising the leadership of the Support Services Team on best practice tools to implement and improve on high quality services
  • Demonstrating and modelling high ethical standards
  • Contributing and leading Key Management Personnel discussions
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless support for Clients supported by Capability

Skills:

To be successful in the Practice Lead role youll need to have:

  • A high level of demonstrated experience working within an evidencebased direct support environment
  • Demonstrated experience working in a supervisionbased role (whether clinical or direct operational supervision)
  • Excellent literacy and writing skills
  • Demonstrated experience leading and facilitating supervision training and practice development
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation regulations evidencebased frameworks and best practice standards for supporting Children Young People and People with a Disability.
  • High level of consultative skills with the ability to consult with all levels of management

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Psychology Frontline Leadership or Child and Adolescent Welfare (desired)
  • Proven experience in providing supervision training and/or development in a similar or relevant field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role (desired)
  • Training qualifications in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention or Sanctuary (desired)
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations related to Capability Support including but not limited to development of appropriate resources and frameworks for teams.
  • Valid probity checks or ability to undertake (CYF check Police check Drivers License WWVP)
