For PET USCAN Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials (from suppliers and also within departments and CMOs) according to production schedules. Plan and schedule material/production needs. Impacts the teams ability to achieve service quality and timeliness of objectives. The role is subject to operating policy objectives. There is moderate autonomy within the role. High levels of operational judgment are required to achieve outcomes required.

Job Summary

The Head of Materials Management is responsible for the overall management of all aspects of materials and supply chain operations at the manufacturing site. This position will be responsible for ensuring that the sites material requirements are met on time and within budget by implementing efficient procurement strategies and effective inventory control systems. The role also involves overseeing the sites logistics processes to ensure timely delivery of goods and services. Additionally this individual will manage relationships with suppliers vendors and other external partners to optimize costs and streamline operations. Overall the Head of Materials Management plays a critical role in supporting the sites production goals through efficient materials management practices.


Responsibilities

  • Manage the entire Supply Chain process including procurement warehousing transportation and distribution.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to develop and implement efficient supply chain strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to procurement quality assurance and safety standards.
  • Oversee the implementation of lean manufacturing principles to improve operational efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Monitor performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to team members fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  • Coordinate activities across multiple locations to ensure seamless of projects and initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external suppliers ensuring that raw materials meet quality standards compliance regulations and timely delivery.
  • Ensure materials are sourced in accordance with regulatory requirements and that all documentation is in place to meet cGMP and FDA regulations.
  • Continuously assess and improve materials management processes to drive efficiency reduce lead times and optimize costs without compromising on quality or compliance.
  • Lead initiatives to implement best practices automation and new technologies to enhance materials management across the network.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) providing regular reports to senior management on materials performance inventory status and supply chain risks.


Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 710 years of experience in materials management supply chain management or procurement within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management Pharmaceutical Sciences Materials Management or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • At least 3 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role supporting cGMPcompliant facilities and pharmacies.
  • Deep knowledge of pharmaceutical materials management including APIs excipients packaging and regulatory compliance in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience managing materials across multiple manufacturing sites and pharmacies in a highly regulated environment.
  • Indepth knowledge of cGMP FDA regulations and other industry standards related to pharmaceutical manufacturing and supply chain operations.
  • Strong communication negotiation and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with crossfunctional teams and suppliers.
  • Exceptional organizational and problemsolving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fastpaced regulated environment.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g. SAP Oracle) and materials management software with strong analytical capabilities.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Preferred:

  • APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or similar certification.
  • Six Sigma or Lean certification particularly for process improvement initiatives.
  • cGMP FDA or similar regulatory certifications (preferred).
