Associated Students UCLA as a responsive studentcentered organization provides innovative and excellent services programs products and facilities for the entire UCLA community. ASUCLA was created when the campus first opened in 1919. Even in the early years ASUCLA meant student government student publications and student services such as a bookstore and cafeteria. Today ASUCLA has evolved into a fourpart organization. These four entities collectively make up the largest student association in the country. The four entities are: - Undergraduate Students Association elected representatives of the undergraduate student body.
- Graduate Students Association elected representatives of the graduate student body.
- Student Media this includes the Daily Bruin UCLARadio the Bruin Life Yearbook and seven different magazines.
- Services & Enterprises this division is designed to meet the everyday needs of students and the campus community. Major divisions include Student Union Event Services UCLA Restaurants UCLA Store UCLA Photography and Trademarks & Licensing.
Goals of Associated Students UCLA: Products To provide essential and convenient items that are easily accessible of high quality and low cost including but not limited to academic support food trademark merchandise and convenience products. In addition to continue evaluating the utility and convenience of all products to make improvements that will best serve the UCLA community.
Facilities To provide a welcoming environment with as much space as possible for the optimal functioning of general academic support student governments student organizations and social gatherings. To have stateoftheart venues for programming and efficient aesthetic and multifunctional commercial outlets.
Programs To provide and support a diversified array of programming by prioritizing studentrun studentinitiated studentcentered programming that reflects the needs of the campus community in order to enhance educational cultural and developmental social interaction.
Services To provide an outstanding level of support to student government student groups and student programs through the stateoftheart office and community spaces and by providing adequate financial resources and personnel to ensure an active and vibrant campus life. Licensing Coordinator: Salary Range: $47500 $60000 Department: Trademarks & Licensing Summary of Key Responsibilities: Under direction of the Director Trademarks & Licensing assists domestic/campus and international licensing program operations and activities related to: design approval license administration; compliance; merchandising/marketing. Identifies potential licensees across all product categories; performs market research for prospective licensees; processes prospective licensee requests including application notification and ; conducts product reviews; compiles monthly quarterly and/or annual financial reports; assists Director and/or Retail Brand Director with review of graphic concepts and product samples; assists with processing royalty reports. Reviews/analyzes/follows up on licensee contractual and financial performance and makes recommendations to Director for renewals/nonrenewals. Collects and evaluates sales and royalty reports licensee audits and followup. Assists retail Brand Director and Director of Ethical Labor and Sustainability with code of conduct compliance. Ensures regular compliance review/monitoring and follow up on contractual merchandising and marketing obligations. Assembles seasonal trend boards that drives the development of new product designs and assets. Conducts routine enforcement activities and follows up on infringements. Ensures maintenance of licensee administration files other databases and records. Assists Director and Retail Brand Director in the development of annual budget objectives and domestic income and expenses. Reconciles monthly income and expense account statements. Assists in other areas of the Division and performs special assignments related to marketing and social media development business development license management and product design. Qualifications: Requires 13 years related experience in consumer products licensing or product development preferably with an emphasis on licensed sports apparel. Experience must demonstrate the ability to: understand brand guidelines and facilitate design approvals in compliance with brand guidelines; identify current fashion trends; assess potential business partners; interact effectively with a wide range of individuals in a diverse environment. Requires excellent verbal written numeric research planning presentation and organizational skills. Requires independent judgment resourcefulness flexibility appropriate handling of confidential matters. Requires proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite applications and license management platforms. BA/BS required or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Physical Requirements: Frequent walking standing sitting reaching bending and stooping; occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.
