Position Summary
The Service Center Specialist will serve as the first point of contact for patient access to the CSU Health Network. This role will discuss the concerns of the patient and appoint appropriately. This position will release confidential information following state and federal regulations and HIPAA guidelines; filter questions and take a proactive approach to ensuring the patients eligibility and forms requirements are met prior to arriving for their appointment; answer a wide range of questions as they pertain to medical insurance medical insurance waiver process billing and cost of service release for immunizations records and receiving records.
Minimum Qualifications
Two years of clerical experience of which one year of medical terminology experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications
* Excellent listening skills and the ability to ask probing questions understand concerns and overcome objections * Strong work ethic and selfstarter able to effectively manage multiple priorities and adapt to change within a fastpaced business environment * Must possess a professional and friendly attitude and be able to quickly develop a rapport with students over the phone * Ability to learn and navigate new software quickly * Bachelors Degree preferred but not required
