LOA Hourly - Simulation and Lab Technician

Nevada State University invites applications for LOA Hourly Simulation and Lab Technician. This position will support operations of both skills lab and simulation education for the School of Nursing to ensure that users receive a quality educational experience. The successful applicant will hold a Bachelors degree with two years of experience in a healthcare skills and simulation lab environment or a combination of equivalent work experience and education.

Please note that students currently enrolled in the nursing program at Nevada State or students enrolled in prerequisite courses and planning to apply for the nursing program at Nevada State are ineligible for this position.

Core Responsibilities:

Under the limited direction of the Health Science Lab Director incumbent supports lab operations for all nursing lab activities for the School of Nursing and External Users; this includes but not limited to the following:

• Coordinating and organizing all teaching and exam sessions.
• Setup and breakdown of physical assessment and skills labs.
• Assist with maintaining inventory and par levels for disposable and nondisposable supplies.
• Preset/stock all labs and simulation areas.
• Operate and maintain equipment (A/V software cameras video recorders manikins task trainers) and supplies.
• Assist Director and other Technicians to coordinate prepare and maintain schedules equipment and other required resources for all exam and teaching sessions.
• Troubleshoot equipment when problems arise.
• Facilitate repair and maintenance of laboratory equipment when needed.
• Provide support for highfidelity simulation sessions.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in related field with 2 years of experience or combination of equivalent work experience and education (Associates degree and 4 years of experience or High School Diploma and 6 years of experience).
• Proficient in network technology.
• Proficient at working with audio/visual equipment and computers (hardware software and basic applications).
• Ability to communicate both orally and written.
• Ability to multitask.
• Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship (Nevada State does not sponsor employmentrelated visas).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS).
• Experience with data tracking and continuous Quality Improvement.
• Experience with healthcare education lab operations and budgets.

Work Hours:
Variable during normal hours of operation MondaySaturday 8am10pm.

Hourly Rate:
$25.50 per hour.
