Visy is powering the circular economy closing the loop between packaging recycling and remanufacturing. We believe materials are not truly recycled until theyre made into something newand it all starts with Visy Recycling. As Australias largest recycler our extensive network of recycling operations is integrated with our manufacturing sites. We collect and sort recyclable materials like paper cardboard glass plastics and metals from households and businesses and locally remanufacture them back into new sustainable packaging.
As a Maintenance Electrician youll be integral to ensuring our plant runs efficiently with minimal downtime. Youll perform preventative and reactive maintenance on a wide range of equipment ensuring that its safe compliant and operational. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager and based at our Gibson Island site youll also support continuous improvement projects and actively manage spare parts and inventory.
What youll do:
- Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance to minimize unscheduled downtime.
- Use our Computerised Maintenance Management System (IFS) to record work history and manage followup work requests.
- Execute electrical maintenance in line with safety regulations and operational targets.
- Collaborate in maintenance planning and contribute to process improvement initiatives that reduce costs and increase reliability.
- Participate in lean manufacturing maintenance activities such as 5S and root cause analysis (RCA).
- Work closely with the site maintenance team and external suppliers to maintain high operational standards.
What You Will Bring:
- Relevant experience maintaining equipment in a fastpaced processmanufacturing/ industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of PLCs motor control and faultfinding with hydraulic systems experience.
- Knowledge of CAD software for interpreting and modifying electrical schematics is essential.
- Proficiency in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) for managing maintenance tasks and records.
- Electrical Certificate III/IV in Electro Technology Electrician (Qld).
- Electrical Fitter and Electrical Mechanic licenses.
- Confined Space and Working at Heights certifications are advantageous.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Mechanical aptitude and logical problemsolving abilities.
