POSITION SUMMARY: Provide grounds maintenance at HoltonArms School ensuring attractive and safe grounds areas and playground areas; protecting against erosion; performing a variety of special grounds maintenance operations; and performing maintenance of exterior building components.
Hourly position: 1 30 minute lunch; 1 15 minute breaks per day.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
- DAILY: Walk through inspections of school grounds to identify areas needing improvement (e.g. fallen branches garbage loose sports balls damaged fencing etc..
- DAILY: Maintains school grounds (e.g. mowing trimming irrigation system and components snow etc. for the purpose of ensuring grounds are attractive and maintained in a safe condition.
- DAILY: Cleans landscaped areas and related items (e.g. storm drains parking lot site fixtures fields litter etc. for the purpose of preventing flooding removing hazards.
- WEEKLY: Perform safety checks on playground equipment and the building exterior for the purpose of ensuring equipment and building exterior (exits) are safe for students.
- WEEKLY: Blow or sweep courtyards. You may need to do the Lower School daily during the berry season.
- WEEKLY: Clean pond and fountain at front of school when it has been turned on.
- Maintain all grounds equipment power tools hand tools lawnmowers blowers chain saws tractors trucks golf carts etc.
- Work closely with Athletic Department to line sports fields placement of all backstops netting and field equipment. Drag the softball field daily or weekly as needed.
- Handle all aspects of snow removal as well as spread salt as needed to prevent ice buildup on walkways and roads.
- Maintain hardscape work walks exterior signs concrete curbs and concrete diverter at downspouts.
- Install and maintain fencing as needed.
- Transport a variety of tools equipment supplies etc. for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required at job site.
- Responsible for the care maintenance and inventory of all supplies and equipment owned by HAS.
- Be aware of and operate within OSHA (occupational Safety & Health Act) standards and company safety policies at all times.
- Responsible for courteous efficient response as well as required to have a professional appearance and attitude at all times.
- Empty and clean outdoor trash bins.
- Assist with event setup and teardown as needed.

A supervisor may assign other duties to meet mission requirements of the school and cooperation of all personnel is expected to carry out the mission.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must possess a valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
- Must have the knowledge and ability to use a variety of tools and power equipment.
- Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
- Must be physically able to perform the duties required for this position including having the ability to lift up to 80lbs.
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
- During nonsports seasons assist with building facilities as required.
- Some overtime is required and vacation approval may be limited during peak activity periods.
The salary range for this position is $2628 per hour. This position is eligible for overtime in weeks in which more than 40 hours are worked.
