The DES Division of Child Support Services (DCSS) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Child Support Services Officer 1. This position is responsible for reviewing/analyzing all incoming child support caserelated documents received through the divisions central mail; receiving dispersing and housing supplies for the Specialized Services Region.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Process correspondence/retrieve and process documents received in the mail drop box mail received from US Postal Service third parties interoffice mailing sort and process outgoing mail.
Receive review sort analyze disperse image/scan and log correspondence/mail and documents by following standard work
Maintain records of child support payments received directly into the central mailroom processing as needed.
Maintain central repository of certified legal documents needed to process judicial actions.
Initiate contact and conduct interviews; triage clients applying to receive state benefits to determine if eligibility criteria is met.
Knowledge in:
Computer software applications i.e. Microsoft Office Suite and Google tools.
Office equipment i.e. scanners copiers and fax machines.
Interviewing techniques and investigative procedures.
Filing and maintaining records.
Skills in:
Customer services with heavy public and phone contact.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse group.
Effective oral and written communications.
Research compare and analyze data for data entry
Ability to:
Meet performance measures goals and objectives.
Work independently as well as cooperate with others within established guidelines.
Read and interpret court orders.
Collect organize and present information clearly and accurately.
Maintain professionalism when interacting with consumers and staff at all levels.
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
Six 6 months of customer service or social services experience
If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job to conduct State business then the following requirements apply Drivers License Requirements. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current valid classappropriate drivers license complete all required training and successfully pass all necessary drivers license record checks. The license must be current unexpired and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to drivers license record checks must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C. R210207.11.
Successfully pass background and reference check; employment is contingent upon completion of the abovementioned process and the Agencys ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.
All newly hired State employees are subject to and must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (EVerify).

State employees are required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) the State sponsored retirement contribution plan and the LongTerm Disability (LTD) program after a 27week waiting period.
