The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS) Division of Child Support Services (DCSS)is the division within DHS that enhances the well-being of children by locating non-custodial parents; establishing paternity and support orders; enforcing and modifying support obligations; and collecting and distributing child support payments. This program promotes parent accountability and self-sufficiency while reducing the public responsibility for providing financial and medical support to children. DCSS also administers several outreach programs to include but not limited to Fatherhood Prison Re-Entry and Parental Accountability Court. These outreach initiatives are devoted to increasing non-custodial parental involvement in the childs life.

DCSS is seeking candidates for the position ofManager 3 Child Support Services. This position is located in DecaturDeKalb County Georgia.

Job Description

Pay Grade: M

Leads evaluates and assists in the development and administration of child support offices including regionally supporting policies and programs establishing and enforcing support orders and investigative compliance legal and clerical support activities. Child Support Services Managers have department-wide responsibilities for various child support programs and as members of the divisions management team help determine the divisions overall direction. Directs subordinate managers supervisors and staff. Will manage large numbers of agency staff; has a large scope of responsibility within the agency.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Monitors the effectiveness of the regional operations plans through periodic reports and meetings with the DCSS Directors Office.
  • Plans organizes and manages the operations within the assigned region.
  • Oversees the operations of local offices to ensure adherence to applicable federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Ensures compliance with federally mandated audit requirements.
  • Oversees the delivery of services by contractors who provide child support services locates services collections services and other services within the region.
  • Performs other professional responsibilities as assigned.
  • Directs subordinate managers supervisors and other staff.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in a related area from an accredited college or university AND five (5) years of experience includingthree (3) years of subordinate managerial or supervisory experience in a human service delivery program;
OR
  • Three (3) years of experience at the lower-level Mgr. 2 Child Support Services (SSM061) or position equivalent;
OR
  • Five (5) years of experience at the lower level Mgr Child Support Services (SSM060) or position equivalent.
