About the Role:
WXXVTV the FOX/NBC/CW affiliate serving the Mississippi Gulf Coast is looking for a dynamic and driven Anchor/Multimedia Journalist (MMJ) to join our news team. This is a great opportunity for a passionate storyteller who thrives in a fastpaced newsroom and wants to connect with the local community.
As an Anchor/MMJ you will be responsible for anchoring newscasts reporting on impactful local stories and delivering compelling content across multiple platforms. Were looking for someone who is confident on the desk effective in the field and skilled at engaging audiences on digital and social media.
Responsibilities:
- Anchor assigned newscasts with professionalism credibility and energy
- Enterprise write and edit compelling news stories for broadcast and digital platforms
- Deliver live reports from the field with accuracy and clarity
- Develop and maintain sources to break exclusive stories that matter to our viewers
- Engage with audiences on social media and contribute to digital coverage
- Work closely with producers and newsroom leaders to execute highquality newscasts
- Represent WXXV at community events and station initiatives
- Adhere to ethical journalism standards and best practices
- Bachelors degree in journalism communications or a related field
- 13 years of onair experience preferred (will consider strong entrylevel candidates)
- Strong writing storytelling and live reporting skills
- Ability to and edit video (experience with Adobe Premiere or similar software is a plus)
- Comfortable with social media platforms and digital news strategies
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights weekends and holidays as needed
- A positive attitude strong work ethic and a passion for local news
- Be part of a growing newsroom with a commitment to local storytelling
- Gain experience in a market with diverse news coverage from coastal weather to military and tourism stories
- Work and live along the beautiful Mississippi Gulf Coast
