Job Description
The Aerospace Engineer will work on detailed design and prototyping activities related to the development of fixedwing VTOL/UAS aircraft utilizing LPIs hybrid drive.
***Applicants should have 2 years applied engineering experience in a fastpaced product development environment***
Duties:
- Design and develop fixedwingVTOL subsystems integrating LiquidPistons hybrid engine technology
- Work with the lead engineerdesign analysis testing and manufacturing teams to achieve project goals
- Contribute to preparation ofmonthly progress reportsfor theDoD customers
You are:
- HandsOn; Not shy about designing building and testing mechanical and structural aerospace components orsystems beyond theory and numerical analysis(preference will be given to candidates with relevant product / prototype portfolios)
- Innovative outofthebox thinker and selflearner withanalytical mind set(we especially value professionals that operate with strongphysics and engineering fundamentals)
- Proficient with the use of mechanical design and analysis tools (Solidworks CatiaAnsys or similar)
- A university degreedengineer with 2yearsof relevantindustry experience involvingaerospace and/or electricvehicle product development
- An exceptional verbal and written communicator
Preferred Skills Include:
- FEA and related computational skills geared towards design and optimization of composite aircraft structures
- Rapidprototypinginvolving additive manufacturing carbon & glass fiber / epoxy composites
- 1sthand experiencewith autonomous and/or R/C flightcontrol systems and electromechanics
- Documentation analysis and presentationwith MS WordExcel and PowerPoint
