Salary Information:The salary range is $49911$109469 per the Faculty CBA Salary Scale. Teachers will be hired and employed in the highest category of teaching staff to which they are entitled in accordance with the degrees and certifications that they hold and the subjects and levels that they teach.

Job Purpose
Plans for and provides Spanish Language instruction at the Secondary School Level. Articulates his/her work with administrators teachers and other school staff. Communicates the Spanish Language program to parents.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Education:The position requires a Masters degree or foreign equivalent in Education or a related field. Undergraduate and or graduate transcripts must be submitted.
Certifications: Professeur/e certifi/e en Langues vivantes dEspagnol titulaire de lducationorCertification in teaching Spanish at the secondary school level from another country.
Experience:2 years teaching experience in a relevant group.
Duties And Responsibilities
Provides classroom instruction in accordance with the fundamental goals and the specific educational mission of Rochambeau.
Develops curriculum instructional materials assessment tools and lesson plans according to the needs of students of differing ages levels and abilities
Selects and orders textbooks and instructional materials for use in the classroom. Determines instructional materials designed to achieve learning goals and behavioral objectives. Selects books and instructional aids appropriate to the interest and maturity level of students.
Provides individual and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student. Provides remedial programs for students who have not achieved language competency commensurate with their potential.
Meets with department colleagues to evaluate student placement test results monitor and assess student performance throughout the year to determine each students current level placement and discuss other departmental concerns.
Participates in appropriate inservice programs or other professional development.
Participates in parentteacher conferences as required or requested.
Attends teachers meetings
Participates in appropriate inservice programs or other professional development.
Evaluate student performance in class maintain records for individual students and prepare report cards each trimester.
Acts as a liaison between students parents and school staff in regard to the Spanish Language program of instruction.
Knowledge Skills And Abilities
Native or nearnative Spanish fluency.
Considerable knowledge of teaching methods learning styles ability to work effectively with other teachers administrators and other school staff in organizing and implementing the Spanish Language program of instruction
High degree of cultural competency.
Ability to work successfully with colleagues on a team
Skills in building an equitable classroom community. Positively support the schools mission policies and practices and work collaboratively in a professional organization.
Able to use strong written and oral communication skills to transfer thoughts and express ideas
