Job Description
This is a temporary long term substitute assignment to fill in for a leave of absence. It will begin in May 2025 through the end of the school year.
Job Goal: To teach students effective methods and strategies to further their growth and success in applicable subject matter. To establish effective rapport with pupils; to motivate pupils to develop skills attitudes and knowledge to help them be successful in their educational environment.
Qualifications:Holds current MA Certification; previous teaching experience preferred; strong planning and organizational skills ; ability to motivate students; demonstrated understanding of child growth and cognitive development
Reports to: Building Principal
Supervises: none
Performance and Responsibilities:Work with individual students or small groups of students to provide educational interventions and progress monitoring; Provide high quality general education instruction to students who are atrisk in reading writing and/or mathematics to move students to grade level proficiency; Create classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students; Provide students with strategies to develop perserverance and selfconfidence in content; Work with staff to deliver effective subject instruction that ensures that all students are prepared for success; Assist principal and teachers to analyze student data plan instruction and develop a shared understanding of effective instruction; Help assess student strengths and needs through classroom observation interpretation of data and the evaluation of student work; Maintain collaborative relationships with teachers that allow for the exchange of honest feedback and growth for students; Collaborate with classroom teachers and student support personnel to enhance student achievement with the objective being to deliver appropriate supplemental curriculum that supports grade appropriate academic skills for children; Works cooperatively with grade level school based teams: Other duties as assigned by the Principal
