Job Summary:

The Employee Benefits Account Executive engages with clients daily fostering and maintaining relationships with both client and carrier representatives. This role involves researching analyzing and evaluating various benefit plans including medical life and disability and serving as a benefits advisor to clients. The Account Executive acts as the lead consultant and primary contact for clients overseeing team members ensuring accuracy and delegating tasks to meet client deliverables promptly and accurately.

Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate terms conditions coverage limits and pricing with carriers and wholesalers.
  • Develop and maintain ongoing client relationships; serve as the expert on Health & Welfare Benefits and vendor/carrier products and services.
  • Maintain a project plan to ensure timely client deliverables delegating tasks to junior team members as needed.
  • Utilize online carrier tools to develop quotations prepare prerenewal information and update client proposal tables (small market only). Understand and articulate alternative funding strategies (large market only).
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers companies and clients.
  • Keep clients informed of industry trends and regulatory issues.
  • Maintain relationships with carrier representatives to understand available products and services and recommend them to clients.
  • Anticipate client needs and develop strategies to address them.
  • Review requests for proposals and insurance plan analyses negotiate with carriers and recommend renewal actions. Oversee the implementation of new business.
  • Understand and articulate alternative funding strategies.
  • Collaborate with the director to develop and execute client strategy plans and defined deliverables.
  • Oversee the open enrollment process for clients; review employee presentations and communication materials.
  • Conduct and present annual client compliance audits.
  • Understand client financial mechanics and projections.
  • Explain legislative guidelines including COBRA HIPAA ERISA Section 125 and Health Care Reform to clients and keep them updated on relevant guidelines.
  • Interpret plan rules to ensure compliance with Plan Documents and Summary Plan Descriptions (SPDs).
  • Review the work of Account Managers and provide informal mentorship.
  • Ensure all client data is entered into the CRM system promptly.
  • Collaborate with the director to develop and execute client strategy plans and defined deliverables.


Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Knowledge of benefits administration HealthCare Reform industry trends and carrier products and services.
  • Ability to work independently and anticipate client and team needs.
  • Effective time management and decisionmaking skills.
  • Diligent followup skills.
  • Clear communication skills both written and oral.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Strong presentation and public speaking abilities.
  • BA/BS preferred.
  • 5 years of industry and product line experience preferred.
  • 4 years of health and welfare consulting experience required.
  • Life Accident and Health Insurance License required.
  • GBA or CEBS Certification is a plus.

Compensation Package:

  • Compensation: Between $100K$115K (based on experience).
