About the Role:
The Enrolled Nurse is responsible for the delivery of high quality personcentred nursing care to aged care clients in line with regulatory and professional standards. The EN works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) and collaborates with the healthcare team to improve Aboriginal people with a range of health and wellbeing needs. The EN will deliver quality holistic care and identify ways to improve health outcomes independence and dignity of clients through the delivery of safe clinical practice and collaborative coordination and planning of care.
The key objectives of the role include:
Complete the following with supervision from a Registered Nurse:
- Nursing care assessments on all Biripi aged care clients and document outcomes.
- Develop and document care plans for all Biripi aged care clients based on their clinical needs and compliant with the funding they receive.
- Review care plans in alignment with Aged Care standards. Document and communicate changes to the care plan to team members.
- Provide clinical care to clients which is informed by need determined from clinical assessment and document accordingly.
- Provide clinical services aligned with AHPRA code of conduct for nurses AHPRA Registered nurse standards of practice Aged Care Quality & Safety Commission Quality Standards and the Aged Care Quality & Safety Commission Code of Conduct for Aged Care.
Essential Criteria:
- Diploma of Nursing (HLT54121 or equivalent)
- Current registration as an Enrolled Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Experience in aged care geriatric nursing or a similar setting
- Ability to hold all relevant security clearances including the National Police Check and Working with Children clearances
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and public holidays.
- Demonstrated clinical experience.
- Excellent documentation and report writing skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work with health service agencies nongovernment organisation community groups and medical professionals at all levels.
- Ability to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and their leaders respecting traditional culture and ways of doing business.
- Demonstrated cultural awareness and sensitivity and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with the local community.
- Ability to maintain high professional standards and the utmost confidentiality in a complex close knit community.
- Current valid Drivers licence.
